Study of Currents in Floods to Improve the Location of the Missing

Science has focused on improving the search for those missing in floods, such as those caused by the cold drop (dana). Francisco Vallés Morán, a researcher at the Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (IIAMA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has developed a study that enhances this task. Using data and models, and published in the Geography Notebooks of the University of Valencia, the study accurately reproduces the flood of the cold drop on October 29 in l’Horta Sud through two-dimensional hydraulic simulation.
