Simone Moro is one of Italy's and the world's most prominent alpinists, known for his ascents in extreme conditions, especially in winter. He has achieved the first winter ascent of four of the fourteen eight-thousanders, including Shisha Pangma, Makalu, Gasherbrum II, and Nanga Parbat. These achievements require not only exceptional technical skill but also extraordinary physical and mental endurance, given the combination of low temperatures, avalanche risks, and the constant danger of health problems such as altitude sickness.
